Maya Update

Ok it's taking some time but i'm getting there. Next could somebody tell me what these little yellow dots are and why they don't go away please? Anything I need to worry about? The duplicate doesn't seem to have them though.

    It's a display bug. It shows the verts as being selected. Go to Vertex mode, highlight them, and then go back to Object mode. It will disappear.
