Self Portrait Update

This photo was taken with flash so some sections of paint are reflected.

Since the last update I've done some work to the lips, the facial tone in places, some more to the hair, and no it's not short hair, it's just mine tied up, i'm painting how I look when I paint. There is also a little bit added to the tone in the t-shirt, some more darkness. 

And Phil- Before you say it.... no I'm not going to smile in this painting :P

aNATomy studies

After visiting the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition in London, I have a new determination to draw every day. So I plan to do at least one aNATomical study per day. Today I tried using fine liner with cross hatching to show tone in this human skull, I've not used fine liner to draw anything detailed before. 

Can only get better with lots of practice :)

People Watching With a Coffee

I thought i'd practice speed sketching. So every time I go out and relax in a cafe with a coffee, i'll have my sketchbook in hand.
